What is real estate photography?

Real estate photography is professional listing photography that presents a home at its best so it sells or rents faster. George is different from the coastal towns either side of it because it is a real town first and a holiday destination second. The market is families relocating, professionals and retirees, and the stock reflects that: established suburbs like Heather Park, Denneoord and George South, larger plots and smallholdings out towards Blanco and Kraaibosch, golf estate homes at Kingswood, and coastal property at Herolds Bay. George also sits on the coastal plateau below the Outeniqua Mountains, which hands you a backdrop most towns would pay for, provided the exterior is composed to use it. As a George real estate photographer, DV Media shoots for agents, developers and owners marketing on Property24, Private Property and agency sites.

On the ground

Shooting in George.

What sells here

Space, schools, a regional airport and a genuine town economy rather than a seasonal one. Buyers are relocating families, professionals and retirees, and they are reading plot size, room flow and how the house sits on its stand.

Where we shoot

Heather Park, Denneoord, George South, George Central, Blanco, Kraaibosch Park, Groenkloof, Kingswood Golf Estate and Le Grand Estate, plus Herolds Bay and Wilderness on the coast.

Use the mountains

The Outeniquas sit behind most of George, and a listing that ignores them wastes its best free asset. We compose exteriors and aerials to place the house against the range, and we work with the cloud coming over the mountains rather than waiting for a clear sky that may not arrive.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do you cover Herolds Bay and Wilderness as well as George itself?

Yes. Herolds Bay and Wilderness fall inside the George area and are part of the same run for us, along with the inland suburbs and the estates. That coastal stock is a different shoot from a Heather Park family home, because the sea and the setting carry more of the sell, so we plan the exterior timing accordingly. Tell us the address and we will confirm coverage and pricing within 24 hours.

Can you get the Outeniqua backdrop into the exterior shots?

That is exactly what we look for. George sits on the plateau below the range, so on most stands there is a composition that places the house against the mountains instead of against sky. It takes choosing the angle and the hour rather than shooting the elevation flat on from the driveway. Where an aerial adds the context that a ground shot cannot, we bring in our registered partner pilots.

How do you handle George weather and mountain cloud?

We plan around it rather than pretend it will not happen. Cloud rolling off the Outeniquas can sit over the town while it is clear a few kilometres away, so the exterior gets shot in the best window of the day rather than at the time that suits the diary. When the sky genuinely will not play along, sky replacement is included as standard, and it is done to look like weather rather than like a filter.

Do you shoot Kingswood and the golf estates?

Yes. Estate homes need a slightly different approach because the setting is a large part of the price: the fairway aspect, the outlook and the security of the estate all matter to the buyer. We shoot the house properly and then give the listing at least one frame that shows how it sits in the estate. Access arrangements with estate security are worth flagging when you book so we are not held at the gate.

How does travel to George work?

George is on our Garden Route run west from St Francis Bay, and we are along that corridor regularly. Travel is itemised as a clear line in your quote rather than hidden in the package, and if you have more than one listing, or you are coordinating with another agent in the office, booking them together keeps that line down. Send the addresses and your launch dates and we will come back within 24 hours.
