Legal
Last updated: 23 April 2026. These terms apply to all photography and video work commissioned from DV Media. By booking a shoot, you agree to them.
A shoot is confirmed once (a) the quote is accepted in writing (email is fine) and (b) any deposit stated in the quote has been received. The balance is due within 7 days of final delivery.
Standard delivery is within 24–48 hours of the shoot date, via a branded online gallery. Rush delivery (same-day) is available at +30%. Raw / unedited files are not included but can be purchased as a buyout.
On full payment, the client receives a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use the delivered images and video for the purpose commissioned — typically marketing of the specific listing, development or brand. DV Media retains copyright and may display the work in its portfolio, social feeds and case studies unless the client has signed an NDA or confidentiality agreement.
Re-sale of the raw images to third parties (e.g. stock libraries, syndication) requires a separate licence.
All drone operations are conducted in line with SACAA regulations. Some locations are no-fly zones and cannot be flown — we will advise at the quoting stage. If a location is disclosed only on arrival and turns out to be restricted, the drone add-on fee is non-refundable.
Additional travel fees may apply depending on distance and location. When applicable, travel is quoted separately at SARS rate per km, plus accommodation where needed. This is always agreed in writing before the shoot.
DV Media carries public liability and equipment insurance. Our maximum liability on any single engagement is capped at the total fees paid for that engagement. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (e.g. a missed deadline, lost sale, or marketing campaign delay).
Neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events outside reasonable control (natural disasters, load-shedding of an extreme nature, government action). We'll reschedule in good faith.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of South African courts.
